The Township of Algonquin Highlands has a number of seasonal positions available for this summer, including a Seasonal Trail Technician, Assistant Swim Instructor, Seasonal Trails Office Attendant and Dorset Tower Attendants.

The Township of Algonquin Highlands is seeking applications from experienced, qualified people for the position of Public Works Supervisor.

Please note that as of Monday, April 7, the Frost Centre Ski Trails are closed for the season. Thank you to everyone who skied at the Frost Centre this winter, helping to contribute to its success for another year! 

Please note that as of today - Thursday, April 3 - all Algonquin Highlands waste disposals sites have returned to their regular operating hours. You can find site hours and other information here. 

The significant weather event declared by the Township of Algonquin Highlands on March 28, 2025, has been lifted as of April 3, 2025 at 2 p.m.

The Township of Algonquin Highlands is seeking applications from experienced, qualified people for the position of Operator for the Dorset Yard.

Please note that due to forecasted inclement weather, the Algonquin Highlands Council meeting scheduled for tomorrow - Thursday, April 3 - will commence at 1 p.m. instead of its regular 9 a.m. starting time.

Please note that Algonquin Highlands waste disposal sites are open and operating according to their regular hours today - Wednesday, April 2. That means the Maple Lake, Pine Springs and Oxtongue Lake sites are open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Please note that as of the morning of Wednesday, April 2, telephone and internet services have been restored at the Algonquin Highlands Administrative Office and Dorset Recreation Centre. This means Staff are once again able to take calls and receive emails from residents.

Please note the fire season is in effect in Algonquin Highlands from April 1 through October 31 each year. This means that as a safety precaution, daytime burning is prohibited. Outdoor burning during the fire season is permitted between 7 p.m. and 7 a.m.
