  • Stanhope library branch closed June 26 through July 1

    Please note the Stanhope branch of the Haliburton County Public Library will be closed Wednesday, June 26 through Monday, July 1 while the concrete walkway outside the building is replaced. We thank residents for their patience.

  • Dorset Arts, Crafts and Antiques Show takes place June 29

    Join us at the Dorset Parkette (22602 Highway 35) on Saturday, June 29 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. for the Dorset Arts, Crafts and Antiques Show. Support local artisans and enjoy music by Junkyard Symphony (sponsored by Dorset Community Partnership) with show times at 10 a.m., 11:30 a.m. and 1 p.m.

  • Dorset Heritage Day takes place June 29

    Take a step back in time with Dorset Heritage Day at the Dorset Heritage Museum (1040 Main Street) on Saturday, June 29. Outdoor exhibits will include steam-powered machinery, antique automobiles and tractors, as well as visit from the 35th Battalion.

  • Take the Algonquin Highlands Sign By-Law Survey

    Algonquin Highlands Council is considering the creation of a Sign By-Law to regulate signage on municipally owned property, including road allowances and other public spaces, within the Township.

  • Seeking coaches for Stanhope Soccer League

    The Township of Algonquin Highlands continues to seek volunteer coaches for the Stanhope Soccer League this summer. 

  • Construction underway along Highway 35

    Please note that starting Monday, June 10, construction work is underway along Provincial Highway 35 between Carnarvon and Ox Narrows in a project with an anticipated end date of Friday, Aug. 22, 2025.

  • NOTICE: Application to Purchase Road Allowance AH-RA-001-22

    WHEREAS the Council of the Corporation of the Township of Algonquin Highlands has declared part of the original road allowance lying in between Lots 10 & 11, Concession 9, Camp Dorset Drive, in the geographic Township of Sherborne, in the Township of Algonquin Highlands, County of Haliburton, to be surplus.
