Representatives from the Eastern Ontario Regional Network (EORN) will be facilitating a session with Council, during its June 18^th, 2026, Regular Meeting to gather Council’s input for the Community-wide Affordability and Governance Structure Study. 

The next municipal election will be held on Monday, October 26, 2026.  Elections Ontario is now responsible for maintaining the Permanent Register of Elections for Ontario municipal elections. You can access the Elections Ontario Register to Vote portal  here  for more information and to register and/or confirm your information. 

The public survey for the County of Haliburton's community-wide Affordability and Governance Study is open until June 28! Residents and business owners are invited to share their thoughts and opinions on governance structure changes for the County and its four, lower-tier municipalities.

With a new gardening season upon us, a reminder that the ideal ratio of materials in your compost pile is 1/3 greens to browns.

Haliburton County, ON, June 8, 2026 – Beginning today, residents and business owners across Haliburton County are invited to share their ideas about what municipal governments can do today to build a stronger future for our communities.

A special meeting of Algonquin Highlands Council will take place on the morning of Tuesday, June 9 commencing at 9 a.m. This meeting has been scheduled in order to proceed with the business, as amended, of Council from its cancelled May 21, 2026 regular meeting.

The next municipal election will be held on Monday, October 26, 2026.
