Please note the public water refill station at 1123 North Shore Road is once again operational. We thank residents for their patience. 

Please note the public water refill station at the AH Administrative Office is currently out of order. Water remains available at the Stanhope Firefighters Community Hall at 1095 North Shore Road.

Please note that the Algonquin Highlands Council meeting that had been scheduled for 9 a.m. on Thursday, May 21 has been cancelled. Residents will be informed if the meeting is rescheduled. 

Due to the forecasted weather conditions, we regret to inform the community the Spring Fly-In at Stanhope Municipal Airport has been cancelled for this Saturday, May 23. Due to the forecasted inclement weather, we will not be proceeding with a rain date on Sunday, May 24 either.

Please note that all Township of Algonquin Highlands waste disposal sites will be open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Monday, May 18. Please remember to bring your pink Landfill User ID Card with you. 

Please note the Township of Algonquin Highlands Administrative Office and Dorset Recreation Centre will both be CLOSED on Monday, May 18 in observance of Victoria Day. The office and the DRC will re-open for their regular operating hours on the morning of Tuesday, May 19. 

The Township of Algonquin Highlands is implementing a Sewage System Maintenance Inspection Program (SSMIP) for its residents to help preserve and protect surface water and groundwater quality, in accordance with By-Law No. 2026-41. 

The Dorset Scenic Lookout Tower will open for the 2026 season this Friday, May 15 at 10 a.m. Come and experience one of the most breath-taking vistas in Ontario cottage country! If you've never ascended the Tower before, make 2026 the year you do!
