Service Disruption

Please note the terminal building at the Stanhope Municipal Airport will be closed from Monday, October 5 through Saturday, October 17. The terminal building will re-open Sunday, October 18. 

The Township of Algonquin Highlands would like to advise all eligible electors, on the Voters’ List, that Voter Information Letters for the 2026 Municipal and School Board Election will be mailed on Monday, October 5, 2026.

As rehabilitation work continues at the Hawk Lake Log Chute, please note that there may be another stoppage of waterflow at the dam at the site for a least a portion of the day tomorrow - Friday, Oct. 2 - between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. The work, which is removing damaged portions of the log chute from the Kennisis River, is scheduled to be completed Friday. 

Rehabilitation and improvement work on the Historic Hawk Lake Log Chute is underway as of Monday, Sept. 28, with the contractor mobilizing to the site. The work is scheduled to last through Friday, Oct. 2. 

Please note the Historic Hawk Lake Log Chute will be CLOSED Monday, September 28 through Friday, October 2 for improvement and site restoration work. No public access will be permitted to the property during this time.

Please note the runway at the Stanhope Municipal Airport will be closed between 6:30 and 9 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 21 to allow for training by Algonquin Highlands Fire Services. If residents spot emergency vehicles at the airport during this time, there's no need for alarm - it's simply members of AHFS honing their skills! 

Please note that the Visitor Help and Revision Centre will be open at the Dorset Recreation Centre on Wednesday, Sept. 16 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Staff will be available to help residents ensure they are on the Voters List, or make any required additions, deletions or corrections. 

Please note that Township maintenance staff will be completing work on the playground at Halls Lake's Elvin Johnson Park on Tuesday, Sept. 15 and on the playground at the Stanhope Park on North Shore Road on Wednesday, Sept. 16.
