  • NOTICE: Application to Purchase Original Shoreline Road Allowance AH-OSRA-005/23

    WHEREAS the Council of the Corporation of the Township of Algonquin Highlands has declared part of the original shore road allowance lying in front of Lot 10, Concession 6, in the geographic Township of Livingstone, in the Township of Algonquin Highlands, County of Haliburton, to be surplus.

  • Statement Regarding Ongoing Issues at Maple Lake

    As a result of recent events involving private individuals restricting or attempting to restrict the public’s use of shoreline road allowances, the Township of Algonquin Highlands has had to revert to the unprecedented step of initiating legal action against such individuals.

  • New County-Wide Burning By-Law Takes Effect April 1

    A new Open Air Burning By-Law will come into effect across the municipalities of Haliburton County on Monday, April 1, 2024. Jointly created by the County’s four Chief Fire Officials and adopted by each of its lower-tier municipal councils, the new by-law establishes consistent burning regulations throughout the County and introduces some new provisions.



  • Easter Weekend Hours at AH Facilities

    Please note the Algonquin Highlands Administrative Office at 1123 North Shore Road will be closed on Friday, March 29 (Good Friday) and Monday, April 1 (Easter Monday). The office will re-open to the public at 8 a.m. on Tuesday, April 2. The Algonquin Highlands Trails Office at 20130 Highway 35 North will also be closed on Good Friday and Easter Monday. 

  • Seeking volunteer coaches for Stanhope Soccer League

    The Township of Algonquin Highlands is currently seeking volunteer coaches to assist with this summer's Stanhope Soccer League.

  • 2024 Solar Eclipse: Monday, April 8

    On Monday, April 8, the Township of Algonquin Highlands, along with other parts of Ontario, Quebec, the Maritimes and Newfoundland, will witness an eclipse of the sun. A solar eclipse happens when the moon passes between the sun and the earth, temporarily blocking sunlight.

  • Highway 35 re-opened following washout

    Please note that Highway 35 south of Dwight has been repaired and re-opened to traffic following Monday's washout.

  • Highway 35 closed south of Dwight

    Please note that Highway 35 is closed in both directions between Birkendale and Seabreeze Roads just south of Dwight due to a March 11 washout.

  • NOTICE: Adoption of 2024 Budget

    NOTICE is provided that the Council of the Township of Algonquin Highlands proposes to enact a By-law to adopt the 2024 Municipal Budget at its Regular Meeting scheduled for Thursday March 21, 2024.

  • 25th Line Road Re-Opened

    Please note the section of 25th Line Road that was closed earlier this week due to unsafe conditions has been re-opened to traffic after the necessary repairs were made. Thanks to residents for their patience.
