The Stanhope Museum is in search of volunteers! Is that you?

Special Council meetings for the deliberation of the 2026 Algonquin Highlands Budget will take place Monday, February 23 and Tuesday, February 24, commencing at 9 a.m. 

Please note that both the upper and lower floor of the Dorset Recreation Centre are re-opened to the public as of Thursday, Feb. 19, following the installation of a new accessible lift at the facility. This means the public has access to the gymnasium, squash court, fitness room and changerooms/washrooms. 

The next regular meeting of Algonquin Highlands Council takes place this Thursday, February 19 commencing at 9 a.m. You can view the agenda, which includes a link to the livestream, here.

Please note the AH Trails Office at 20130 Highway 35 will be OPEN for Family Day on Monday, February 16. 

The 34^th annual Dorset Snowball Winter Carnival takes place this weekend on Feb. 13 and 14. 

The Township of Algonquin Highlands is seeking Expressions of Interest (EOI) from qualified aviation-related businesses interested in establishing operations at the Stanhope Municipal Airport, a registered aerodrome serving the region as an important transportation and economic asset.

The Corporations of the Township of Algonquin Highlands, the Township of Minden Hills, the Municipality of Dysart et al and the Municipality of Highlands East, are currently seeking interested applicants from professionals who are required to adhere to codes of standards of their profession, and other individuals with in depth knowledge of the campaign financing rules of the Municipal Elections Act, 1996 for appointment to a Joint Compliance Audit Committee.
