Household Hazardous Waste Collection Event: Saturday, May 30

A Household Hazardous Waste Collection Event and the first one of the year in the Township of Algonquin Highlands will take place this Saturday, May 30 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Maple Lake Waste Disposal Site at 1302 McPhail Road. 

This is an opportunity to dispose of items including but not limited to aerosol cans, automotive batteries and fluid, paints and stains, finishing products, cleaners, solvents, pesticides, fertilizers, non-refillable propane cylinders, antifreeze and other toxic materials. 

Three other HHW events are scheduled for Algonquin Highlands waste disposal sites in 2026 as follows: 

• Saturday, August 8, Oxtongue Lake Waste Disposal Site, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. 
• Saturday, August 29, Dorset Transfer Station, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. 
• Saturday, October 17, Maple Lake Waste Disposal Site, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Algonquin Highlands residents are welcome to attend any HHW Collection Event held within the County of Haliburton - just remember to take your Landfill User ID Card with you!
