Spring Fly-In at Stanhope Municipal Airport on Saturday, May 24
There will be fun, food, flying and more at the Spring Fly-in at Stanhope Municipal Airport on Saturday, May 24 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
“We invite everyone to come out to our Spring Fly-In,” says Algonquin Highlands Mayor Liz Danielsen. “You don’t have to be an aviation enthusiast to enjoy these wonderful events. They are true community celebrations that seem to grow in size all the time. If you’ve never been to a fly-in before, I encourage you to check it out.”
The event will feature a wide array of aircraft, classic cars, artists, vendors, food, live music, and a beer tent by Haliburton Highlands Brewing. There will be firefighters and equipment from Algonquin Highlands Fire Services and the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry, and for a fee, plane and helicopter rides.
For local businesses, sponsorship packages are available to help ensure the event is a soaring success. Sponsors will receive recognition on official sponsorship signage. Three packagers are available. Piston sponsorships include those up to $250; Turbine up to $500; and Rocket sponsorships up to $1,000.
Visiting pilots are welcome to camp on the airport property the weekend of the fly-in but must pre-register prior to the event. For more information about the fly-in, sponsorships or camping on-site, contact Airport Coordinator Kaylee Francis-Carroll.
