HIRING: Public Works Operator - Stanhope Yard

The Township of Algonquin Highlands is seeking applications from experienced, qualified people for the position of Operator for the Stanhope Yard. Reporting to the Public Works Supervisor, the Operator provides a variety of construction, snow/ice removal, maintenance and repair services to roads, bridges, culverts and drainage and other road work, parks, cemeteries, landfills and lagoons, public access points such as
docks and landings.

The preferred candidate will possess the following qualifications:

• A minimum of two (2) years’ experience operating a backhoe, excavator and
tandem axle truck. Ability to operate a grader is an asset.
• Class DZ Ontario Driver’s Licence, AZ preferred with a clean drivers abstract.
• Previous experience operating a combination plow sander would be an asset.
• Solid understanding of public works construction and maintenance procedures.
• A good understanding of all policy, procedures, by-laws, Ministry guidelines,
regulations and legislation related to the operation of equipment and public works
construction and maintenance.
• Satisfactory Criminal Record Check is required.

Salary Range: $29.00 - $32.64 per hour /40-hour work week.
