Algonquin Highlands

Official Plan

The Official Plan is a land use planning document that provides guidance for the long-term growth and development of the municipality.

The Official Plan, or OP, sets out the Township’s goals, objectives and policies for future land use, while having regard for relevant social, economic and environmental matters. The current Official Plan for the Township of Algonquin Highlands was adopted in 2005.

In accordance with Section 26 of the Planning Act, the Official Plan is periodically reviewed to ensure that it continues to meet the changing economic, social and environmental needs of the municipality. Such a review was conducted in 2011 and again in 2018.
