The next municipal election will be held on Monday, October 26, 2026. Elections Ontario is now responsible for maintaining the Permanent Register of Elections for Ontario municipal elections. Summer hours in effect at AH waste disposal sites
A reminder that all Township of Algonquin Highlands waste disposal sites have transitioned to summer hours as of Friday, May 1. Please remember to bring your pink Landfill User ID Card with you.

Stanhope Courts open for season
With nets installed, please note that tennis, basketball and pickleball are now available at the Stanhope Courts at 1095 North Shore Road. The swings have also been installed at the park.

Notice of Nomination for Office - 2026 Municipal and School Board Elections
The nomination period for the 2026 municipal election starts May 1, 2026 and runs until August 21, 2026.
Nominations for Municipal Officers and School Board Trustees must be made on the prescribed form (Form 1) and must include signatures of at least 25 persons, that are eligible electors within the Township of Algonquin Highlands, endorsing the nomination on the prescribed form (Form 2). School Board Trustees are excluded from the 25 signature requirement.
Nomination forms are available at the Township of Algonquin Highlands Clerk’s Office or on the municipality’s website. All Nomination forms must be filed, either in person or by your agent, by appointment, with the Clerk/Returning Officer during normal office hours between May 1, 2026, to Thursday, August 20, 2026, and between 9:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. on Friday, August 21, 2026 (Nomination Day).
