Door replacement at Algonquin Highlands Administrative Office
Please note the front doors at the Township of Algonquin Highlands Administrative Office at 1123 North Shore Road are being replaced today - Wednesday, Sept. 3. Safe entry and exit from the building can be accommodated for visitors, however, please be aware there may be slight delays. Thank you for your patience.

Construction project wraps up at Dorset Tower
Please note the construction project at the Dorset Scenic Lookout Tower is now complete, and the Tower has been fully re-opened in time for the Labour Day Weekend. Come and take in one of the most spectacular vistas in all of Ontario cottage country!

Labour Day hours at Algonquin Highlands facilities
Please note the Algonquin Highlands Administrative Office will be closed on Monday, Sept. 1 for Labour Day, re-opening to the public at 8 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 2. The Dorset Recreation Centre will also be closed, reopening on Tuesday.

Advance tickets for fall colours at Dorset Scenic Lookout Tower
Advance tickets to visit the Dorset Scenic Lookout Tower during fall colours go on sale beginning Tuesday, September 2. Tickets will be required to visit the Tower beginning September 20, and continuing through to the end of the season on October 26.

Temporary Closure on Circuit of Five Viewpoints trail
A section of the Circuit of Five Viewpoints Trail is closed at the Braeloch gravel pit, just south of Little Hawk Lake Road. A detour will be in place soon.

TRAIL CLOSURE: Log Chute Trailhead
Please note the Log Chute Trailhead into Crests of Kennisis will be completely closed for both entry and exit from Wednesday, Aug. 27 to Friday, Aug. 29 for maintenance. Please make alternative arrangements for exit and entry on any connecting trails during this time period.

Service Disruption: Water systems at Algonquin Highlands facilities – Sept. 8 & 9
Please note that the Township’s water treatment systems will undergo routine maintenance on a rotating schedule during Monday, Sept. 8 and Tuesday, Sept. 9.

Fire ban in Haliburton County extended until August 26
With ongoing dry conditions in the area, the County's Four Chief Fire Officials have extended the current total fire ban throughout the County of Haliburton until at least Thursday, Aug. 28. The four Chiefs will reassess conditions on that date, and an announcement will be made subsequently.

Terminal Building Closed - Friday, August 15
Please note the terminal building at the Stanhope Municipal Airport will be closed on Friday, August 15. We apologize for any inconvenience.
