Service Disruption

Please be advised that the parking lot at the Stanhope Municipal Airport will be closed on Saturday, May 24, 2025 for the Spring Fly-In event. 

Please note the Dorset Scenic Lookout Tower will be closed for construction for at least part of the day on Tuesday, May 27.

Please note that annual surface treatment is commencing on Braeloch, Green Lake and North Shore Roads, as well as the Barry Line, and motorists can expect some delays on these roadways as a result. 

Please note the water refill station at the Dorset Scenic Lookout Tower is currently out of order. We'll let residents know when it is again operational.

Please note the Algonquin Highlands Administrative Office at 1123 North Shore Road will be closed on Monday, May 19 for Victoria Day, re-opening to the public on Tuesday, May 20 at 8 a.m. 

Canada Post has indicated the possibility of another service disruption in the near future, potentially as soon as May 22. 

Please note that as of Wednesday, May 7, half-load restrictions have been lifted from Township of Algonquin Highlands roadways. 

Please note that summer hours will come into effect at all Township of Algonquin Highlands waste disposal sites on Thursday, May 1.

Please note the Algonquin Highlands Administrative Office at 1123 North Shore Road will be closed Friday, April 18 through Monday, April 21. The office will re-open to the public at 8 a.m. on Tuesday, April 22. The AH Trails Office will also be closed on Good Friday and Easter Monday. 

As of Friday, April 11, 2025 - All Frost Centre Hiking trails are CLOSED due to a safety issue on the Frost Centre Property.

All other hiking trails in Algonquin Highlands remain open.
