Hawk Lake Log Chute Rehabilitation - Monday, Sept. 28

Rehabilitation and improvement work on the Historic Hawk Lake Log Chute is underway as of Monday, Sept. 28, with the contractor mobilizing to the site. The work is scheduled to last through Friday, Oct. 2. 

A shut-off of the waterflow at the dam at the log chute is scheduled for Tuesday, Sept. 29 and will last from approximately 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. Residents may notice reduced flows along the Kennisis River during this time. A second shut-off is scheduled to take place during the same time period on Thursday, Oct. 1. 

While there will be no public access to the log chute property during the week, please note that the trailhead for the Crests of Kennisis hiking trail will remain open. 

The work will remove the flood-damaged sections of the log chute, leaving the intact portion that abuts the dam.
