  • Fire ban in Haliburton County extended until August 26

    With ongoing dry conditions in the area, the County's Four Chief Fire Officials have extended the current total fire ban throughout the County of Haliburton until at least Thursday, Aug. 28. The four Chiefs will reassess conditions on that date, and an announcement will be made subsequently. 

  • Terminal Building Closed - Friday, August 15

    Please note the terminal building at the Stanhope Municipal Airport will be closed on Friday, August 15. We apologize for any inconvenience.

  • Fire Ban in Haliburton County extended until August 19

    With no significant rain in the forecast, the County's four Chief Fire Officials have extended the total fire ban for the County of Haliburton until at least Friday, August 19. Conditions in the area remain extremely dry. 

  • Stanhope Soccer League cancelled for Tuesday, August 12

    Please note that due the continuing extreme heat and chance of thunderstorms, the Stanhope Soccer League will be CANCELLED for this evening - Tuesday, Aug. 12. We apologize for any inconvenience. 

  • SERVICE DISRUPTION: Public Water Refill Stations on North Shore Road

    Please note the Township is experiencing intermittent issues with the public water refill stations at the Algonquin Highlands Administrative Office and Stanhope Firefighters’ Community Hall on North Shore Road. We’ll let residents know when repairs have been completed. You can also find a public water tap at the Stanhope Municipal Airport at 1168 Stanhope Airport Road.

  • SERVICE RESTORED: Public Water Refill Stations on North Shore Road

    Please note the public water refill stations at the Algonquin Highland Administrative Office and Stanhope Firefighters' Community Hall on North Shore Road have been repaired and are back in working order. Thank you for your patience. 

  • Stanhope Municipal Airport reopened to traffic

    Please note the Stanhope Municipal Airport has been re-opened to traffic following the completion of line-painting on the Airport's runway. The line-painting crew is set to return to complete the Airport's front parking lot this evening, between approximately 8 and 10 p.m.

  • Stanhope Municipal Airport closed Thursday, August 7

    Please note the Stanhope Municipal Airport will be closed for runway painting between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. on Thursday, August 7. This may limit access to the Airport's front parking lot, which would also limit access to the public water refill station located there. 

  • Total Fire Ban in Haliburton County: Effective noon on Tuesday, August 5

    Effective at noon on Tuesday, Aug 5, 2025, there will be a total fire ban throughout the County of Haliburton, including the townships of Algonquin Highlands, Minden Hills, Highlands East and Dysart et al. This means no outdoor burning any time of day or night.
