The Stanhope Museum will open for the 2026 season this Saturday, June 27! Come for a visit at 1123 North Shore Road between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. This year's featured exhibit takes a nostalgic look at Boshkung Lake's Camp Camulet and is one you don't want to miss!

This summer, visitors and residents are invited to experience the Haliburton Highlands in a whole new way with the launch of the Haliburton Highlands Heritage Passport, an interactive tourism experience that encourages you to discover the County’s museums, communities, and unique local stories.

Join us for Dorset Heritage Day on the Dorset Heritage Museum grounds on Saturday, June 27 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. There'll be lots to see and do, including numerous unique exhibits, antique automobiles, Uncle Norm's Tractors, plein air artist Harvey Walker, a working replica of an alligator logging boat, and much more!

Please note that service has been restored to the public water refill stations at the Stanhope Firefighters' Community Hall, 1095 North Shore Road, and the Township Offices at 1123 North Shore Road. We thank residents for their patience. 

The Township of Algonquin Highlands is seeking applications from qualified individuals for the existing position of Trail Technician/By-Law Officer. Reporting to the Trails Coordinator, the Trail Technician/By-Law Officer assists the Trails Division with the operation and maintenance of the Haliburton Highlands Water Trails (Frost Centre and Poker Lakes canoe route areas), hiking trails and the Frost Centre ski trails.

A friendly reminder the Algonquin Highlands Docking & Mooring By-Law specifies that no person shall dock or moor a boat in any municipally owned or operated docking area for a duration of more than 12 hours.

Please note the public water refill stations at the Stanhope Firefighters' Community Hall at 1095 North Shore Road and the Algonquin Highlands Administrative Office at 1123 North Shore Road will be unavailable beginning the evening of Thursday, June 18 through the morning of Friday, June 19.
