Third Party Advertising
Individuals, corporations and unions can register as Third Party Advertisers and can also make contributions to Third Party Advertisers. Third Party Advertisers are required to register with every municipality in which they wish to advertise.
Third Party Advertisers may register with the municipality from May 1, 2026 until August 21, 2026. Third party registrations will not be accepted after the deadline. Registration allows a Third Party Advertiser to promote or oppose any candidate that the electors in the municipality can vote for (Council/School Board Trustee positions).
No individual, corporation or trade union shall incur expenses for a third party advertisement unless the individual, corporation or trade union is certified as a registered Third Party Advertiser with the Clerk of the municipality, when the expenses are incurred and the advertisement appears.
Third party advertising must be done independently of candidates. Candidates are not permitted to register as, or direct, a Third Party Advertiser.
Registration paperwork will be available May 1.
