WATER SERVICE OUTAGE - SEPTEMBER 8 & 9
Please be advised that routine water system maintenance is being performed at Township of Algonquin Highlands facilities on Monday, September 8 and Tuesday, September 9.
On Monday, Sept. 8, the affected facilities will include the Algonquin Highlands Administrative Office at 1123 North Shore Road, the Stanhope Firefighters' Community Hall at 1095 North Shore Road and the Dorset Scenic Lookout Tower. The public water refill stations at these facilities will be unavailable on this date. Alternate water refill stations include the Stanhope Municipal Airport at 1168 Stanhope Airport Road and the Dorset Recreation Centre at 1051 Main Street.
On Tuesday, Sept. 9, the affected facilities will include the Stanhope Municipal Airport and the Dorset Recreation Centre. The public water refill stations at these facilities will be unavailable on this date. Alternative water refill stations include the Township of Algonquin Highlands Administrative Office and the Stanhope Firefighters' Community Hall.
Public Drinking Water Stations
There's water everywhere in Algonquin Highlands, and this includes a number of municipally owned public drinking water stations throughout the Township. Public drinking water is available at the following locations:
- Stanhope Airport (1168 Stanhope Airport Rd.)
- Township Office (1123 North Shore Rd.)
- Dorset Recreation Centre (1051 Main St., Dorset - located to the right of the main entrance by the book drop)
- Dorset Scenic Lookout Tower (Hwy 35, 1km north of the town of Dorset)
- Stanhope Firefighters' Community Hall
Well Water Testing
The Township of Algonquin Highlands no longer accepts water samples for testing. For information on bottle pick-up and drop-off locations, please contact the Haliburton, Kawartha, Pine Ridge District Health Unit:
