Half-load restrictions come into effect March 14
Please note that half-load restrictions are currently in place on County of Haliburton roadways, and will come into effect on Township of Algonquin Highlands roads this Friday, March 14.

Blasting scheduled for North Shore Road on Thursday, March 6
Please note the Township has been advised that blasting is scheduled to be carried out at the Fowler-Thomas Quarry on North Shore Road this Thursday, March 6.

Township office and Dorset Recreation centre closed for the day
Due to worsening weather and road conditions, the Township office and Dorset Recreation centre will close at 4:30 p.m. today (Friday, February 28th)

2025 Budget: Special Meeting Agendas
A reminder that Algonquin Highlands Council will hold 2025 budget deliberations this week, during special meetings on Thursday, Feb. 27 and Friday, Feb. 28. The meetings commence at 9 a.m., respectively.

Snow clearing on Big Hawk Lake Road
Please note the Township is planning to clear snow from Big Hawk Lake Road in the area between the log chute and the boat launch on Thursday, February 20. At this time, a few vehicles remain parked along the road in this location, and have been tagged.

Family Day hours at Algonquin Highlands waste disposal sites
Waste disposal sites in Algonquin Highlands will be operating special hours on Family Day, Monday, February 17th.
Pine Spring and Oxtongue Lake will be CLOSED.
Maple Lake and Dorset will be open late, from 12 noon until 3 p.m. -
Family Day hours at AH facilities
Please note the Algonquin Highlands Administrative Office at 1123 North Shore Road will be closed on Monday, February 17 for Family Day, re-opening to the public on Tuesday, February 18 at 8 a.m.

Winter Parking Reminders from Algonquin Highlands
A friendly reminder that parking along municipal roads between midnight and 7 a.m. during the winter months is prohibited, as is parking in any manner that interferes with plowing or sanding operations.
