The Algonquin Highlands monthly digital newsletter for June is out now! The newsletter is a great way to stay up to date on all things AH, including Council discussions, event and programming information, environmental tips and more!

The annual celebration will take place at the Oxtongue Lake Community Centre on Wednesday, July 1 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and include a barbecue and open house at Algonquin Highlands Fires Services Station 70, the book launch of Oxtongue Inspires: Through the Lens of Local Artists from Algonquin to Lake of Bays, games, face-painting, music and much more!

Join instructor Mary An Blythe for this three-week class (Thursdays June 18, 25 and July 2) for a journey into the world of water colour. Classes take place at the Dorset Recreation Centre from 12: 30 to 3 p.m. and participants will paint a new piece each week.

The next municipal election will be held on Monday, October 26, 2026.  Elections Ontario is now responsible for maintaining the Permanent Register of Elections for Ontario municipal elections. Catch the fun at this summertime favourite for those aged 16 and under! 

Lloyd Stonehouse has been conducting soapstone carving seminars from coast to coast in Canada as well as internationally since the 1990s. He spends his summer paddling a canoe and offering soapstone workshops. Come and learn how to carve your own sculpture. All tools, stone and supplies are provided.
