  • Dorset Recreation Centre stairlift out of order

    Please note that the stairlift at the Dorset Recreation Centre is currently out of order. The stairlift requires major repairs, and a timeline for those repairs is not yet known. We apologize for any inconvenience and will keep the community apprised of progress on the required work. 

  • HIRING: Public Works Operator

    The Township of Algonquin Highlands is hiring a Public Works Operator to be based out of the Dorset Yard. 

  • Swimming advisory lifted for Elvin Johnson Park

    Please note the swimming advisory that was issued for the beach at Halls Lake's Elvin Johnson Park on Thursday, June 26 due to elevated bacteria levels has been lifted. The beach is once again fully open and safe for swimming. 

  • Fletcher Lake Landing Rehabilitation Questionnaire

    The Township of Algonquin Highlands will be completing a rehabilitation of Fletcher Lake Landing in 2026 and would like to hear from residents and visitors of the lake, and particularly regular users of the facility, about how they utilize the site.

  • Canada Day hours at Algonquin Highlands facilities

    Please note the Township of Algonquin Highlands Administrative Office will be closed on Tuesday, July 1 for Canada Day, re-opening to the public on Wednesday, July 2 at 8 a.m. 

  • Dorset Kids Fishing Derby - Saturday, July 5

    A summertime family favourite, the Dorset Kids Fishing Derby will return to the town dock next Saturday, July 5! The fun gets underway at 9:30 a.m.

  • Swimming Advisory: Elvin Johnson Park

    Please note the beach at Halls Lake's Elvin Johnson Park has been posted as temporarily unsafe for swimming by the Haliburton Kawartha Pine Ridge District Health Unit as of 3 p.m. on the afternoon of Thursday, June 26.

  • Summer kicks off with cultural events in AH

    It's going to be a busy weekend in Algonquin Highlands on June 28 and 29, with a series of cultural events kicking off the summer season! 

  • Stanhope Municipal Airport re-opened: June 17

    Please note the Stanhope Municipal Airport has been re-opened as of 11 a.m. on Tuesday, June 17 following the completion of sealing work on the runway and taxiways. Thank you for your patience.
