Airport Events


The Stanhope Municipal Airport is well known as one of the best recreational airports in Ontario. The Stanhope Municipal Airport Advisory Committee plans and hosts a variety of aviation related events at the airport which draw visitors from near and far by foot, car, bicycle and of course - by plane!

Transport Canada Recency Seminar


The Township will host a Transport Canada Recency Seminar at the Airport on Thursday, May 14 from 7 to 9 p.m. Intended for pilots, this safety seminar will include practical tools, tips and best practices for decision-making, a series of aviation safety topics and support for meeting pilot recency requirements under CARs (Canadian Aviation Regulations). 

If time permits, a Q&A session with the Transport Canada rep will follow the seminar. 

Pre-registration is required. The deadline to register is Saturday, May 9. To register, email Airport Coordinator Kaylee Francis-Carroll at kfrancis-carroll@algonquinhighlands.ca 

Fly-In to Spring


Don't miss the Fly-In to Spring 2026 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, May 23! There will be classic car and antique aircraft displays, food trucks, live music, artists and artisans, face-painting and much more! 

General admission is free and for a fee, you can take in the spectacular Haliburton Highlands foliage from above with an airplane or helicopter ride. A rain date is scheduled for Sunday, May 24. 

Classic Events

Enjoy spring day with the family checking out vintage aircraft, learning about Ministry of Natural Resources firefighting, seeing AHFS fire equipment up close, or taking in the Haliburton Highlands from above with an airplane or helicopter ride. A variety of food and drink is also available. Admission is free. 

The next spring fly-in will take place Saturday May 23, 2026, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Take in the famous Haliburton Highlands fall colours by air, see vintage automobiles and aircraft, model planes and more! Bring the entire family to this fun-filled fall event. Admission is free. 

The next fall colours fly-in is scheduled for Saturday, September 26, 2026, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
