Declaration of Significant Weather Event - March 28
In response to a major freezing rain event in the area, The County of Haliburton, the Township of Minden Hills, the Township of Algonquin Highlands, the Municipality of Highlands East, and the Municipality of Dysart et al have declared a Significant Weather Event at 3:00 p.m. local time that will impact travel and services throughout the County. This declaration is made pursuant to Ontario Regulation 239/02, Minimum Maintenance Standards for Municipal Highways.

Township office and Dorset Recreation centre closed for the day
Due to worsening weather and road conditions, the Township office and Dorset Recreation centre will close at 4:30 p.m. today (Friday, February 28th)

2025 Budget: Special Meeting Agendas
A reminder that Algonquin Highlands Council will hold 2025 budget deliberations this week, during special meetings on Thursday, Feb. 27 and Friday, Feb. 28. The meetings commence at 9 a.m., respectively.

Pine Springs and Oxtongue Lake sites - CLOSED
Maple Lake and Dorset - Delayed opening, 12 noon to 3 p.m. -
Family Day hours at Algonquin Highlands waste disposal sites
Waste disposal sites in Algonquin Highlands will be operating special hours on Family Day, Monday, February 17th.
Pine Spring and Oxtongue Lake will be CLOSED.
Maple Lake and Dorset will be open late, from 12 noon until 3 p.m. -
Family Day hours at AH facilities
Please note the Algonquin Highlands Administrative Office at 1123 North Shore Road will be closed on Monday, February 17 for Family Day, re-opening to the public on Tuesday, February 18 at 8 a.m.

End of Declaration of Significant Weather Event
The significant weather event declared by the Township of Algonquin Highlands on February 12, 2025, has been lifted as of February 13, 2025, at 4 p.m.
