When grant funding opportunities become available, it can often be helpful to have shovel-ready plans already established for capital projects. As such, the Township of Algonquin Highlands is creating a plan for accessibility improvements at the Oxtongue Lake Community Centre, and is looking to residents to help decide which design option is the best fit for the facility. 

As Algonquin Highlands residents are receiving their tax bills in the mail, please note there is no new Landfill User ID Card with the February tax bill. Please continue to use your pink Landfill User ID card to access AH waste disposal site until further notice. 

Special Council meetings for the deliberation of the 2026 Algonquin Highlands Budget will take place Monday, February 23 and Tuesday, February 24, commencing at 9 a.m.

The Township of Algonquin Highlands is seeking Expressions of Interest (EOI) from qualified aviation-related businesses interested in establishing operations at the Stanhope Municipal Airport, a registered aerodrome serving the region as an important transportation and economic asset.

The Corporations of the Township of Algonquin Highlands, the Township of Minden Hills, the Municipality of Dysart et al and the Municipality of Highlands East, are currently seeking interested applicants from professionals who are required to adhere to codes of standards of their profession, and other individuals with in depth knowledge of the campaign financing rules of the Municipal Elections Act, 1996 for appointment to a Joint Compliance Audit Committee.

Please note the Township of Algonquin Highlands Administrative Office at 1123 North Shore Road will be closed on Monday, February 16 for Family Day. The office will re-open to the public at 8 a.m. on Tuesday, February 17. 

The Township of Algonquin Highlands is now hiring for a variety of seasonal positions for the upcoming spring and summer months. Many of these positions are ideal for students and young people and include opportunities to work outdoors.
