Two HHW collection events in AH this Saturday, August 16

There will be two household hazardous waste collection events in Algonquin Highlands this Saturday, Aug. 16 - one at the Dorset Transfer Station from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and one at the Oxtongue Lake Waste Disposal Site from 2 to 4 p.m. Don't forget your Landfill User ID Card!

Don’t worry - if you can't make it, there are lots of other opportunities to safely dispose of your household hazardous waste this year:

Saturday, September 13, 2025 at the West Guilford Landfill (11903 Hwy 118) from 8 a.m. to noon
Saturday, September 20, 2025 at the S.G. Nesbit Arena (55 Parkside St., Minden) from 8 a.m. to noon
Saturday, September 27, 2025 at the Tory Hill Landfill (19178 Hwy 118) from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The last event for 2025 will take place Saturday, October 18 at the Maple Lake Waste Disposal Site (1302 McPhail Rd, Algonquin Highlands) from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Paint cans can be taken to Home Hardware in Minden or Haliburton any time of year - just ensure your paint is in its original container and has a secure lid. Batteries weighing less than five kilograms and lightbulbs of all kinds can be dropped off at most waste disposal sites any time - simply ask an attendant for details!
