The County of Haliburton has launched a community-wide Affordability and Governance Structure Study that will look at ways to simplify government processes and provide better value for taxpayers.

Residents and business owners are invited to take this public survey until June 28. There will be a series of public open houses throughout the County in late June, including one at the Dorset Recreation Centre on Thursday, June 25 from 2 to 4 p.m.

Short Term Rental By-Law takes effect Oct. 1

The County of Haliburton's Short Term Rental By-Law will come into effect on October 1, 2024, including within the Township of Algonquin Highlands. The by-law requires that those who rent out their properties enter into an agreement which includes a Licensee Code of Conduct and Renters Code of Conduct.

Please note that most traditional accommodators are exempt.
