NOTICE: Municipal Cemetery Spring Clean Up

Please be advised, that Township of Algonquin Highlands staff will be completing the annual spring clean-up at our Municipal Cemeteries.

The clean-up will begin Monday, April 27 and will be ongoing until May 15, 2026.

This clean-up effort will include removal of items that were displaced over the winter and that do not comply with the Cemetery By-Law 2025-97, Section 4. You can view the Cemetery By-Law here. 

The clean-up helps to ensure the cemeteries remain a safe and accessible space for friends and families to visit. Maintenance staff will be placing items in the storage bins at each cemetery for the items to be claimed.

All unclaimed items that remain after June 1, 2026, will be disposed of appropriately. Cemeteries are scheduled to re-open May 1, 2026.
