Take Notice that the Township of Algonquin Highlands has received a complete application to amend the Township’s Zoning By-law. The site-specific amendment applies to land located Concession 5, Part of Lots 31, geographic Township of Stanhope, in the Township of Algonquin Highlands. The civic address is 1049 Green Lake Rd (see key map).
The Purpose of this application is to amend the Township of Algonquin Highlands Zoning By-law 2022-49 to rezone the subject lands from the Rural (RU) Zone to a General Industrial Exception (M1-Exception) Zone.
The Effect of the amendment would be to permit the development of an indoor light manufacturing, processing, assembly or fabricating plant and warehouse (excluding any use which, by its nature or materials, is declared to be offensive) with accessory office space, as an expansion of the adjacent Heat-Line business. The amendment would also:
• Recognize the existing aircraft hangar and its existing 10.6 metre rear yard setback, where 12 metres is required;
• Recognize two existing accessory storage containers and their existing 10.5 metre rear yard setback, where 12 metres is required; and
• Permit a reduced parking supply of 25 parking spaces, where 39 spaces would otherwise be required based on the plant/warehouse floor area.
And Take Notice that the Township of Algonquin Highlands will be holding a Public Meeting as required under the Planning Act. The Public Meeting is an opportunity for Council to hear and consider comments related to the proposed amendments.
