New Waste Disposal Site Access Cards

Algonquin Highlands residents will be receiving new, green Waste Disposal Site Access Cards with their June tax bills, which were mailed out last week. Until you receive your new card, please continue to use your pink card, which will continue to be accepted at AH waste disposal sites.

If you receive your tax bill electronically, you will still receive your new Waste Disposal Site Access Cards by mail, sent to the billing address for your tax bill.

The new cards feature QR codes that will be used to capture waste disposal data. Please note the QR codes are for internal use only and are intended to be scanned by attendant personnel upon entry to waste disposal sites once the system is in place.

The codes are not used to track any personal data, but strictly waste disposal information - the number of bags of household garbage being disposed off, whether waste is residential or commercial, the number of tires, the number of electronics, etc. This information will be used to make operational decisions regarding waste disposal moving forward.
