The Fall Colours Fly-In takes place this weekend on Saturday, Sept. 27 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Stanhope Municipal Airport!
There'll be antique aircraft and classic cars, food trucks, live music, face-painting, an appearance by the Civil Air Search and Rescue Association and much more! General admission is free, and for a fee, you can take in the spectacular fall foliage from above with an airplane or helicopter ride.
The Stanhope Museum's famous citron marmalade will be available for purchase (cash only please). Look for the tent near the front entrance. Marmalade costs $8 per jar and sales support the activities of the museum, which is run completely by volunteers. Attendees can also purchase Stanhope Airport T-shirts, which come in a variety of styles and sizes. T-shirt sales help support events at the airport.
Please note the parking lot at the airport will be closed for the duration of the event. The public water station there will remain open, but vehicle access will be limited. Municipal water is also available at the Algonquin Highlands Administrative Office located at 1123 North Shore Road, and the Stanhope Firefighters' Community Hall, located at 1095 North Shore Road.
A rain date is set for Sunday, Sept. 28.
