ALGONQUIN HIGHLANDS VOTES: Nomination Period Open

The nomination period for the October 26, 2026 municipal election is now open! 

If you are interested in running for Council in the Township of Algonquin Highlands, you can find everything you need to know right here. 

Nominations can be filed by appointment only at the Algonquin Highlands Administrative Office at 1123 North Shore Road between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. To book an appointment, contact Clerk/Deputy CAO Dawn Newhook at 705-489-2379, Ext. 333 or dnewhook@algonquinhighlands.ca 

You can view an unofficial list of candidates here. Staff will update the list regularly as nominations are filed. 

The deadline to file a nomination is 2 p.m. on Friday, August 21.
