    Please note the Township of Algonquin Highlands Administrative Office at 1123 North Shore Road will be closed on Monday, February 19 for Family Day. The office will re-open to the public at 8 a.m. on Tuesday, February 20.

  • Establishment of Tapscott Lopes Park in Dorset

    The Township of Algonquin Highlands is pleased to announce its acquisition of the Dorset Pavilion and Community Park in the hamlet of Dorset. The park has been gifted to the Township by cottagers Don Tapscott C.M. and Ana Lopes C.M. and has been renamed “Tapscott Lopes Park” in recognition of its donors.

  • Dorset Snowball returns Family Day Weekend

    One of the Township of Algonquin Highlands’ biggest events of the year returns Family Day Weekend with the Dorset Snowball Winter Carnival.

  • NOTICE: Application to Purchase Original Shoreline Road Allowance AH OSRA-006-23

    WHEREAS the Council of the Corporation of the Township of Algonquin Highlands has declared part of the original shore road allowance lying in front of Lot 5, Concession 2, in the geographic Township of McClintock, in the Township of Algonquin Highlands, County of Haliburton, to be surplus.

  • Statement Regarding Private Claims to Public Property on Maple Lake

    The Township of Algonquin Highlands wishes to address ongoing events near a public access to Maple Lake along North Shore Road near its intersection with Dawson Road. This property has traditionally been used, for decades, for emergency access and ice fishing. A small group of area residents is making claims they own the property and have been expressing this to members of the public attempting to access the lake.

     

  • Call for Volunteers: Dorset Snowball Winter Carnival

    The Dorset Snowball Winter Carnival is one of Algonquin Highlands’ biggest events of year, and the Township is seeking volunteers to ensure this year’s Snowball is another success.

  • Intermittent Interruptions at Dorset Public Water Refill Station

    Due to ongoing construction and plumbing work at the Dorset Recreation Centre, the public water refill station located beside the centre may be intermittently unavailable to the public.
