A Special Meeting of Council will be held on Wednesday, January 27, 2010 at 3:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers at 1123 North Shore Road. Council will proceed in-camera to receive information pertinent to litigation or potential litigation affecting the municipality and to receive advice that is subject to solicitor – client privilege related to the previous expropriation of lands adjacent to the Haliburton-Stanhope Airport and located at Lot 31 Concession 6, geographic Township of Stanhope, including communications necessary for that purpose in accordance with Section 239 subsection (2) (e) and (f) of the Ontario Municipal Act 2001, S.O. 2001 as amended.

The regular meetings of Council scheduled for Thursday, December 3, 2009 and Thursday, December 17, 2009 have been changed to only one meeting to be held on the following date: Thursday, December 10, 2009 at 9:00 a.m. Regularly scheduled Council meetings will resume in January 2010 to be held on the first and third Thursday of each month. |

PUBLIC PARTICIPATION NOTICE
Environmental Assessment for the Proposed Expansion to the
Township of Algonquin Highlands Airport
The Township of Algonquin Highlands is proposing to expand the
Haliburton/Stanhope Airport located in Minden, Ontario. The proposed
project includes the development of a new runway and other improvements
to existing airport infrastructure.
The Office of Infrastructure Canada, invites the public to participate
in an information session concerning the federal environmental
assessment that is being conducted for this project in accordance
with Canadian Environmental Assessment Act. The date and location
of the session is as follows:

and Roads Representative and you will be able to leave a message

once our Staff has received your message and understands the
nature and extent of your concern. Should you not receive a
response to your concerns within a reasonable period of time,
please use our second contact at (705)-754-5450.

emergencies involving Fire or the Threat
to Life, Health or Safety of our residents please remember to Dial

prepared to provide the information requested including your

TOWNSHIP OF ALGONQUIN HIGHLANDS
will accept water samples for
testing from private homeowners only on Tuesday & Thursday
mornings (during the winter months Tuesday mornings ONLY) between
the hours of 9:00 a.m. to 12 noon at this office
Empty
sample bottles are available at the counter. Your sample must
be taken on the same
day you drop them off.
Please note: samples will not be accepted
from anyone drawing their water direct from
the lake without a filtration system, Contact the Health Unit to confirm if

Notice of Public Meetings Regarding Haliburton Stanhope Municipal Airport Development Plans
Please take notice on September 18, 2008 at their regular meeting, Council for the Township of Algonquin Highlands will be receiving final technical information and specifications concerning the proposed development plans for the Haliburton Stanhope Municipal Airport. Interested parties are invited to attend to listen to this initial presentation.
On September 20, 2008 commencing at 10.00 a.m. Council will host a public forum for a further presentation to all interested members of the public. This meeting will be held at the Dorset Recreation Centre located in the Hamlet of Dorset in the Township of Algonquin Highlands.
