  • End of Declaration of Significant Weather Event - April 3

    The significant weather event declared by the Township of Algonquin Highlands on March 28, 2025, has been lifted as of April 3, 2025 at 2 p.m.

  • Telephone and internet services restored at Township facilities

    Please note that as of the morning of Wednesday, April 2, telephone and internet services have been restored at the Algonquin Highlands Administrative Office and Dorset Recreation Centre. This means Staff are once again able to take calls and receive emails from residents.

  • Continued telephone and internet disruption at AH facilities

    While the Algonquin Highlands Administrative Office and Dorset Recreation Centre are both open for their regular operating hours, please note that both facilities continue to experience disruption to telephone and internet service as we recover from the ice storm.

  • Extension of Declaration of Significant Weather Event - April 1

    With more freezing rain in the forecast, please note the Township of Algonquin Highlands is extending the Declaration of a Significant Weather Event initially made on Friday, March 28 until this upcoming Friday, April 4. This declaration is made pursuant to Ontario Regulation 239/02, Minimum Maintenance Standards for Municipal Highways. 

  • Closures and impacts from Significant Weather Event - March 30

    In response to a major freezing rain event in the area, The County of Haliburton, the Township of Minden Hills, the Township of Algonquin Highlands, the Municipality of Highlands East, and the Municipality of Dysart et al have declared a Significant Weather Event at 3:00 p.m. local time that will impact travel and services throughout the County. This declaration is made pursuant to Ontario Regulation 239/02, Minimum Maintenance Standards for Municipal Highways.
