The Stanhope Museum specializes in collecting and preserving its local history and is home to more than 140 years of records and artifacts.

The museum itself is chock o’ block full of terrific stories and artifacts that illustrate colonization, life on the land, logging, community, including rotating exhibits on interesting folks and facts.  Open seasonally from June to September, the museum is open year round online with photo galleries, searchable databases and more.   

Stanhope Heritage Day
Take a stroll through the past at the annual Stanhope Heritage Day.  This day highlights terrific demonstrations and displays of heritage arts, crafts, trades and recreation.  Enjoy the bake sale, barbecue lunch, and the museum's famous citron marmalade.  Lots of stuff to touch, see, do and buy. Something for everyone in the family!  All for just $3; kids 5 and under FREE.  Lots of off-road parking.  Stanhope Heritage Day takes place on the 3rd Saturday in July every year.
