Culture, arts, history, and natural heritage have a well established tradition in the Township of Algonquin Highlands.
In June 2012, the Township of Algonquin Highlands initiated a project to complete a Municipal Cultural Plan. The project sought to engage the public, examine cultural resources, and develop a Municipal Cultural Plan that develops strategies to guide cultural decision-making in the future.
What is a Municipal Cultural Plan?
A Cultural Plan identies the many attractions and assets of a community, highlights community strengths, identifies development opportunities, and makes recommendations for action.
The newly formed (2016) Cultural Resources Committee is responsible for developing a work plan to undertake the recommendations in the Plan. We look forward to seeing how we can further embrace and promote our culture and heritage!
