COVID-19 Impacts to Taxes and Administrative Services

Taxes

2021 Final property tax bills for both residential and commercial properties will be prepared in June 2021, with due dates of July 23, 2021 and September 17, 2021. If you do not receive your tax bill in the mail please contact our tax department accordingly.  Important Note - Penalty and interest charges will resume as of August 1, 2021 in conjunction with the final tax billing – 1.25% per month will be charged against outstanding taxes on account.

Until further notice, we are unable to accept payments by cash or debit.

Tax Payment Options

Online and/or Telephone Banking

When using telephone or internet banking, “Algonquin Highlands Tax” is the payee and the 19 digit roll number (or part) on your tax bill will become your account number.  In some instances the bank will require you to remove the first four digits “4621” which signifies the Township and others may to remove the last four digits “0000.”  It is important to note that you must enter a separate roll number and amount for each property that you own so that payments are allocated correctly.

Cheque

Mail in or use Drop Box at the Township office.  If using the Drop Box plese ensure your cheque is in a sealed envelope. The drop box at the Township office is located on the wall to the left of the front entrance, it is wheelchair accessible.

Cheques and money orders should be made payable to “Township of Algonquin Highlands”. Post-dated cheques are accepted.

If you wish to receive a receipt for your payment, please send in your entire tax bill and make note that a receipt is required.  The bill will be receipted and returned to you by mail.

Financial Institution

Attend bank with copy of tax bill to ensure payment is applied correctly – call ahead for your branch hours as they may be reduced
