During the COVID-19 pandemic and particularly with regard to the Province’s Emergency Declaration the following measures have been put in place for the Parks, Recreation and Trails Department:
- Stanhope, Dorset and Oxtongue Recreation Centres are closed until further notice, phone and email inquiries available at 705-766-9968, recreation@algonquinhighlands.ca,

The outdoor rinks are dependent on the weather for updated conditions visit Notices & Current Conditions Visitors must adhere to all provincial COVID-19 restrictions including maximum allowable group sizes and social distancing. Restrictions change frequently and sometimes with short notice, it is your responsibility to ensure that you are aware of the current COVID-19 regulations prior to heading out. Failure to follow the regulations, and/or receipt of complaints of non-compliance related to these regulations may result in the closure of the rinks. |

Recreational Trails - hiking (except Dorset Tower)/Ski and Snowshoe | ![]() |
