Reservations

Welcome to the Haliburton Highlands Water Trails reservation system.  Effective November 2009 (Poker Lakes and Frost Centre Areas), camping permits will be required for backcountry campsites January 2 to December 18 annually, under the authority of the Haliburton Highlands Water Trails, c/o Township of Algonquin Highlands in partnership with the Townships of Minden Hills and Lake of Bays and the Ministry of Natural Resources.  This NEW system has been established to help protect and sustain area resources and recreational opportunities through the HHWT management program.

This reservation service allows you to book specific sites and dates in real-time.  On-line you can check availability at anytime for a specific site using the Availability Tools or Browse Maps.  You will need a credit card to complete a reservation and the charges must be approved prior to you receiving confirmation.  The booking number serves as your camping permit and you are not required to register on site upon entering the area (except persons booking/occupying sites on the Sherborne Access Road – for these campsites please register at HHWT Office beside the Leslie Frost Centre upon arrival).  Please carry the booking number at all times while camping and produce to staff upon request.  The reservation service will be open to the public from February 1st to October 30th of each year.

Reservations will help to control the volume of people entering the area for canoe route camping, assuring site availability during busy periods and for those who are traveling a long distance or have a favorite site.

topReservation Policies
