The HHWT consists of approximately 28,000 + hectares of provincial and municipal public lands comprised of countless lakes, rivers, trails and continuous forest. Specifically, the HHWT manages two areas known as the Frost Centre and the Poker Lakes.
These areas serve as year round destinations for thousands of canoeists, campers, hikers, day trippers, fisherman, hunters, cottagers snowmobilers, skiers and snowshoers providing significant backcountry recreational and conservation values.
The Haliburton Highlands Water Trails is dedicated to the protection and improvement of the canoe route and camping environment throughout the Haliburton Highlands.

» Cinder Lake access Road – Open, 4WD vehicles only.
» Margaret Lake and Dan Lake Roads – Both roads open. Dan Lake road is not signed. 4WD vehicles recommended for Dan Lake Road.
