Township of Algonquin Highlands - Free Well Water Testing

DROP OFF LOCATION

Bacterial testing for private wells is performed free of charge by the Ontario Ministry of Health - Public Health Laboratory. Sample bottles are available for pickup at the Township Office, 1123 North Shore Rd., during regular office hours. Water samples may be dropped off at the Township Office only at the following times:

From Victoria Day (May) to Thanksgiving (October)
           Tuesdays 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 noon
           Thursdays 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 noon

From Thanksgiving (October) to Victoria Day (May)
           Tuesdays 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 noon

Your water sample must be taken on the same day that you drop it off.

Please note: samples will not be accepted from anyone drawing their water direct from the lake without a filtration system, Contact the Health Unit at (705) 457-1391 to confirm if your filtration system is acceptable.
